90mins: There will be three additional minutes

87mins: Goal! Indonesia XI 0 Liverpool 2 – Raheem Sterling

From the corner Jordan Ibe puts on the afterburners to race into the Indonesia half, he squares the ball to Assaidi who has three Liverpool team-mates against the goalkeeper.

Sterling taps into an empty net to make it 0-2.

Plenty to think about: Liverpool won 2-0 on a hot night in Jakarta but it was a performance that left a lot to be desired.Plenty to think about: Liverpool won 2-0 on a hot night in Jakarta but it was a performance that left a lot to be desired.

86mins: Desperation from Indonesia as they unleash a shot that sails over from 40 yars, a lot of unhappy looking team-mates after that.

But then some sloppy play from Liverpool and the hosts force a corner.

84mins: The Indonesia defenders are certainly struggling to contain Ibe and Sterling but the two young wingers have to deliver something at the end of their play. Sterling is fouled this time.

But yet another set piece is wasted by Liverpool, this time by Jordan Henderson. Poor.

81mins: Raheem Sterling should score there. He uses his pace to latch on to a Henderson pass over the top, and slightly to an angle inside the box he slices his shot past the post.

Borini wanted the ball square and maybe that would have been the better option.

78mins: The ball falls kindly to Jordan Henderson about 20 yards out but he blazes his shot way, way over the bar.

77mins: Liverpool are showing a couple of neat touches but aren’t really getting anywhere.

73mins: Assaidi is again causing problems, this time down the left hand side, and puts in a cross for Jordan Ibe.

He gets underneath the ball and it floats on to the roof of the net.

72mins: A cross comes over from Assaidi and after an air kick from Borini the ball drops to Sterling – but the ball sat up slightly to high and Sterling, leaning back, clips the top of the crossbar from eight yards.

70mins: Sterling beats a couple of players wide on the left but then tries to do too much and is easily dispossessed.

Just a reminder that Arsenal scored six of their seven goals in the second-half. Here’s hoping for a similar injection of excitement.

67mins: Raheem Sterling picks the ball up and drives at the defence, he unleashes a shot but it flies well wide.

I would list those changes but I’ve lost track, the whole outfield has now changed.

Wholesale changes for Liverpool coming up

64mins: Coutinho looks a class above on this pitch, everytime he gets possession there is a sense that something is about to happen.

Unfortunately Alberto has been anonymous so far this half.

Lone frontman: Iago Aspas worked hard in his lone striker roleLone frontman: Iago Aspas worked hard in his lone striker role

62mins: Confusion in the Liverpool defence, Robinson looks like he’s fouled but rather than playing to the whistle he stops and gives Bonai a chance to cross, Johnson is again the one who clears.

From the ensuing corner Bonai yet again wins the header, that’s two or three times that has happened now. Brendan Rodgers can’t be liking what he’s seeing.

60mins: Jack Robinson takes a speculative shot from 25 yards and it’s well gathered by Meiga.

57mins: Liverpool cut apart by some good defending there, Glen Johnson was quick to sense the danger and clears before they get a chance to shoot.

At the other end Coutinho breaks quickly. He rolls it to Aspas but the striker takes a touch that slows the play. He again finds Coutinho who tries to curl one top corner but it goes over.

56mins: To be fair on a second view the ball took a huge bobble, Aspas had no chance with that.

55mins: Terrible miss by Aspas. Mistake in the Indonesia defence puts the striker through on goal – he rounds the keeper but then blazes over.

54mins: More sloppy passing by Liverpool, this has been  a really unimpressive performance, especially against such weak opposition.

51mins: Johnson tries to wrestle his way though two defenders but it’s well cleared. Aspas then finds himself with a chance but has strayed offside.

50mins: The Indonesian fans give us another rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone.

49mins: Liverpool certainly look to be pushing the tempo a bit more, the passing is much more snappy than it was for much of the first half.

Alberto is involved again but Johnson’s cross goes straight out of play.

45mins: Substitutions –

Couple of changes for Liverpool at half-time, Steven Gerrard has been replaced by Joe Allen and Jack Robinson is on for Jose Enqirue

The second half has kicked off

Sportsmail’s Dominic King in Jakarta:

A demanding, physical first 45 minutes for Liverpool to endure in this oppressive heat and just the one goal to show for their efforts from the twinle-toed Philippe Coutinho.

He will be a massive name in the Barclays Premier League this season, if he goes through the gears like Liverpool hope he will. Does everything simply and effortlessly. New signing Luis Alberto has shown some nice touches, too. He came closest to adding to Liverpool’s total with a shot off the bar.

Half-time: Indonesia XI 0 Liverpool 1

Opener: Philippe Coutinho celebrates his goalOpener: Philippe Coutinho celebrates his goal

46mins: With time running down Coutinho whips in an excellent delivery – Agger gets his head on it but it’s not troubling anyone.

45mins: There will be one minute of injury time.

43mins: Downing’s set-piece delivery has been atrocious in this first-half.

41mins: Alberto and Coutinho have had a couple of nearly moments in the last couple of minutes but the final ball has been lacking.

Alberto then releases Aspas and his shot is going well wide before an Indonesian head almost diverts it into his own net.

40mins: Even the raucous Indonesian fans have quietened down. A few are still attempting to rouse the rest of the crowd, but a strange atmosphere has gripped this game on and off the pitch.

It’s definitely a pre-season match.

38mins: Accidental free-kick routine brings a corner – but I don’t think that was one they’d practiced on the training field. Downing then overhits a cross straight out of play.

34mins: Perhaps we shouldn’t have been surprised by that shot from Van Dijk, the striker, who now has two caps for Indonesia, has a good goalscoring record in his career, scoring at almost one every two matches since 2006.

31mins: Mignolet saves well from Sergio van Dijk – the Dutch striker unleashes a brilliant left footed shot from 30-odd yards and Mignolet is at full stretch to turn that round the post.

30mins: Great link up play from Aspas and Alberto and the former cuts inside, unleashes a great shot from 20 yards that hits the bar and goes over. Unlucky from the midfielder.

27mins: Coutinho and Alberto really are at the heart of everything good from Liverpool.

After some good build up play Jose Enrique puts in a cross but downing can only prod it straight to the goalkeeper.

26mins: Indonesia break and it’s that man Bonai once again causing problems with his pace, he can’t find the man but Liverpool concede a dangerous free-kick on the edge of the area.

The free-kick is driven in low but is deflected harmlessly wide.

25mins: Coutinho overhits a cross from around 35 yards and it takes a dodgy bounce just in front of the goalkeeper – it’s spilled but no one is there to follow it up.

22mins: Bonai once again rises tallest to make a connection from a corner – Rodgers will not be impressed by his teams sloppiness so far.

20mins: Luis Alberto and Coutinho look like they have some understanding already, Coutinho, of course, was excellent after joining in January but Alberto is looking very neat on the ball.

18mins: Liverpool need to be a bit more careful here. After an easy opening 15minutes perhaps some complacency has set in – after he corner Indonesia broke and it was only an offside flag that protected Lucas from having to face the speed of Bonai alone.

17mins: Mistake from Gerrard and it’s Titus Bonai driving at the Liverpool defence – Kolo Toure tracks him well and makes an excellent tackle in defence.

At the other end Stewart Downing’s shot is deflected over for a corner.

15mins: Liverpool endure a small scare from a corner and Belgian goalkeeper Simon Mignolet is not impressed that Bonai was allowed a free header.

Sportsmail’s Dominic King in Jakarta:

Sweltering, sticky conditions in Jakarta but nothing can deter the enthusiasm of a 50,000 crowd in the Gelora Bung Karno stadium. A number of flares were set off before the game, making it seem as if this were a significant Champions League match. Most notable team selection for Liverpool is that Steven Gerrard is starting for the first time after shoulder surgery. He has taken a full part in every training session this week and looks particularly sharp. His every touch of the ball is enthusiastically cheered by the locals.

12mins: If these opening exchanges are anything to go by it’s going to be a very easy night for Liverpool. There’s no pressure on the ball and the hosts look toothless in attack and clueless in defence.

10mins: Goal! Indonesia XI 0 Liverpool 1 Coutinho

Philippe Coutinho drives at the defence and gets a little bit of luck as the ball ricochets off Roby falling kindly into the Liverpool man’s path.

From there, however, Coutinho was the coolest man in Jakarta as he easily slotted the ball into the net.

8mins: Every time Liverpool have the ball in the opposing half they’re greeted by a wall of noise.

Downing moves forward quickly and Johnson overlaps but is offside. Aspas flicks the ball in the net but play had already been stopped.

7mins: The Indonesia are very happy to sit back and hit Liverpool on the counter. An attack down the right comes to nothing as no runners get into the box.

5mins: Conservative start here by Liverpool. they are showing a couple of nice touches but aren’t showing any real intent to get forward at the moment.

3mins: Of course this is the same side that was dominated last week by Arsenal, the Gunners easily winning 7-0.

They seem to have remembered that victory and look a lot more defensive from the get go.

1min: The Indonesian side are playing in red which means Liverpool give their funky purple and white kit an airing.

And we’re underway in Jakarta.

2.30pm: We’re just moments away from kick-off in Jakarta, and the Indonesian fans have started another rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone.

2.23pm: The Indonesian fans are making a lot of noise inside the ground and have unfurled a number of large banners inside the Gelora Bung Karno National Stadium.

2.20pm: And the substitutes:
