The Supreme Court has directed Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) to fix gas prices in accordance with international market.

Announcing the verdict of a case regarding load shedding and Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) prices‚ the apex court has directed OGRA to maintain subsidy on fertilizer sector and ensure supply of fertilizer to farmers on subsidized rates.

The court declared collections of additional 9 percent taxes on CNG as unlawful. It is said that OGRA cannot collect additional taxes other than 16 to 17 percent General Sales Tax.

The court has directed OGRA to deposit extra collections with Federal Bureau of Revenue (FBR) within three months’ time. The court also said process of issuing CNG licenses was not transparent.

The court said National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) has failed in delivering its constitutional obligations and directed to maintain subsidy on electricity.

Cng Cylinder

INCPak gathers information and share with the people, to spread awareness, most of the people are not aware about Certified CNG Cylinder and Kits. All the CNG vehicle owners have been asked to use certified CNG cylinders and kits in their vehicles and get them tested from trained personnel after every five years.

Getting Vehicle’s CNG Cylinder checked is MUST, Do not ignore this.

Usually people prefer high pressure exceeding 220 bars which is dangerous – The limit assigned for these Cylinders is 200 bars pressure.

Oil and Gas Regulatery Authority issued the notice for the public awareness.

Certificate Cng Cylinder

The Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) is a high-pressure gas for which specially designed and fabricated seamless cylinders manufactured in accordance with prescribed standard
are used in vehicles. Only the valid licensees/ CNG Stations are authorized to convert vehicles to CNG at their respective facilities. The general public is, therefore, advised to
use only the imported CNG vehicle cylinders (brand new) in vehicles certified by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA).

All vehicle owners are, therefore, informed for their own safety and interest that they should: -

a) Use only the approved brands, imported, seamless brand New CNG cylinders manufactured as per NZS 5454-1989 standard and satisfy themselves about their genuineness and fitness before purchasing/ installing it from the authorized/ licensed CNG Stations.

b) LPG, Oxygen, Nitrogen, Acetylene cylinders are not meant for CNG use. Never use these cylinders as they cannot withstand CNG pressure of 200 Bars and therefore will explode causing loss of life and property.

c) Never install CNG kit/ cylinder in the vehicle from any un-authorized road-side conversion workshop/ outlet.

d) Never install a cylinder which has been fabricated by joining two halves by means of male and female threads or welded as only seamless vehicle cylinders
are used for CNG.

e) Never install a used cylinder which has been burnt/ damaged during riots or other terrorist activities. Such cylinder is weakened and may lead to serious
accidents resulting in loss of precious lives.

f) Never ask for refueling beyond the allowable maximum pressure of 200 Bars under any circumstances. In case any CNG station is found dispensing CNG at
excess pressure, it may be reported to OGRA for strict action against the station to ensure public safety.

g) Cooperate with the CNG Station refueling staff for inspection of the vehicle cylinder at the time of refueling for your own as well as public safety.

h) Get CNG cylinder test certificate from the CNG licensee after conversion of vehicle to CNG.

i) Get vehicle’s CNG system inspected at least once in a year from a trained personnel available at CNG Stations for examination of the cylinder, piping, CNG kit, all components, leakage testing as well as performance of the CNG system to ensure its safe operation;

j) Do not smoke during refueling in the vehicle.

k) Ensure that the CNG cylinder installed in the vehicle is within the periodic test  life, which is 5 years. In order to determine the validity of the cylinders, the nearest CNG Station or nearest Hydro Carbon Development Institute of  Pakistan (HDIP’s) office may be approached for the purpose. In case the cylinder requires testing, the HDIP testing labs at the following cities should be  contacted: -

The Hike in fuel price is something benefits the Government, putting more burden on Pakistanis prices finally implemented and the changes Rs 2.66 per litre hike in petrol price. The summary has been approved. The government approved a Rs 2.66 raise in price of petrol; Rs 3.66 high speed diesel; Rs 3.04 light speed diesel; Rs 2.50 kerosene oil; and Rs 2.36 high octane. The new per litre price of petrol is Rs 102.43; high speed diesel Rs 92.17; kerosene oil Rs 90.29 and high octane Rs 126.77. The ministry has also approved a raise in compressed natural gas (CNG) prices; following a 9 percent increase in General Sales Tax (GST) on the commodity.

The CNG price in Region 1 (Potohar, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan) has been increased by Rs 2.54 to Rs 75.48 per kg. On the other hand, CNG price in Region II (Sindh and Punjab) has been raised by Rs 1.85, after which new price will be Rs 66.75 per kg.

Not so long ago KSA offered a free fuel for a year to Pakistan, which means our Government could have saved people from this misery but they did not – No Mercy !

At times talks about hiking the CNG prices over the petrol and by keeping mind diverted changes the parameters and attributes is very common tactics in the history of Pakistan, until and unless there no awareness of civil sense, because in Asian market fuel prices has been downgraded but we are not in asia nor in the world for sure but Pakistan exists in some other universe for sure.

Now enjoy the new prices and watch  THE OGRA — Anaconda — might show up again anytime and they raise the prices of CNG , fuel or anything they want, keep living with the fear rather than demanding Government for an explanation – Miracles don’t happens in Pakistan .
