OTA, or “over the air”, is a term often use to refer to services that can be accessed on a phone without the need for a USB cable or a local Bluetooth connection. It is often associated with firmware updates and personal information synchronization.

Over-the-air is any method of making data transfers or transactions wirelessly using the cellular network instead of a cable or other local connection.

Most commonly, this term refers to downloading or uploading content or software (such as downloading ringtones, uploading images, etc.).

If the term is used for updating a phone’s firmware this is also known as FOTA (Firmware Over-The-Air).

  6. Yaar OTA is not something special or new! iPhone's also have OTA and previous phones like QMobile Noir A9, A10 has a software update option in About section of settings, that is OTA. QMobile did not utilize OTA and did not make software available.

    • Even Old-age nokia phones (n72/N73 i.e S60 )had OTA. but we the Pakistan when heard about OTA start thinking like its New technology.

  7. when should be expecting review of this device?
