The most-anticipated Pakistani movie in the history of Lollywood, Waar, was released on Eid-Ul-Adha in 2013 and quickly became one of the most popular movies in the country during that year. The movie also brought the revival of the Pakistani film industry to par with international standard and not a bit less than any Hollywood action movie.
Waar attracted masses not just in Pakistan but it did great business internationally. Additionally, Waar was a big budget movie with over $740,000 million (around Rs. 170 million) with amazing graphical / visual effects and Hollywood-level videography.
The movie has gained a lot of positive reviews after release and earned over $1.5 million at the box office.

Waar is the latest Pakistani-English language action film which has been directed by Bilal Lashari and written by Hassan Waqas. Moreover, the movie was produced by Hassan Waqas Rana and Omer Manzoor.

Waar Movie Storyline
The film is based on a stylized depiction of actual life events surrounding the war on terror in Pakistan, including the attack on a Police Academy at Lahore in 2009. Major Mujtaba is a former army officer, who took early retirement from the service. The plot involves a counter-terrorism operation being conducted in the Northwestern tribal region of Pakistan, led by Ehtesham and coordinated by an intelligence officer played by Ayesha. Ehtesham and the intelligence officer come to know of a major attack that can only be countered with the help of Major Mujtaba.
