The new KIA Sportage Alpha price in Pakistan is just Rs. 4,399,000 making it the cheapest addition to the Sportage lineup however, the price cut obviously comes with lower features.
KIA has launched the new Sportage Aplha variant to make the vehicle more accessible to those customers at a lower price however, what’s disappointing is the fact that KIA like other local manufacturers have gone ahead and sacrificed safety to justify the lower price.
Some of the features found standard in KIA cars globally have been removed in Pakistan. The company first cut out side airbags in their top end Sportage AWD and now they have gone even further removing more safety features which are considered essential in some parts of the world.
Removed Features from KIA Sportage Alpha:
No Vehicle Stability Control (VSC)
No Brake Hold
No Hill Start Assist
No Parking Sensors
No Panoramic Roof
No Roof Rack
Features standard in KIA Sportage Alpha:
Front Wheel Drive
2.0L engine with 155HP
6 speed automatic transmission
17 inches alloy wheels
Projector halogen headlights
Halogen tail lamps
2 front airbags
Power side view mirrors (retract available)
7 inches Infotainment Unit (Supports Android Auto and Apple Carplay)
Fabric seats with manual adjustment on front
The KIA Sportage Alpha comes can be booked with Rs. 1,500,000 and comes with a 4 year warranty or 100,000kms (whichever comes first).
As important as it may be for an SUV to have Vehicle Stability Control, we have limited choices and the competition isn’t offering much either in this price now.
KIA Sportage Alpha with a price of Rs. 4,399,000 in Pakistan is still a good option when compared to the competition but still disappointing with limited safety features at such a high price.
