CM Maryam Nawaz Sharif Launches Honahar Scholarship Program

Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif has announced the launch of the Honahar Scholarship Program, a groundbreaking initiative aimed at providing deserving and meritorious students access to quality education. The program is designed to empower the youth by removing financial barriers and helping them pursue higher education.

In her statement, Maryam Nawaz expressed her excitement, saying, “I am thrilled to announce this initiative, which fulfills another promise from our manifesto. This scholarship will enable underprivileged students to realize their dreams of higher education.”

Honahar Scholarship Program

Key Highlights of the Program:

30,000 Annual Scholarships for undergraduate degree programs in 68 selected disciplines aligned with the evolving job market.
The program covers 50 public sector universities, 16 medical colleges, 131 graduate colleges, and top private institutions like LUMS, FAST, COMSATS, GIKI, NUST, and seven more leading institutions.
An initial allocation of PKR 7 billion for the first year, with a total of PKR 130 billion to be distributed over eight years.
The program is expected to benefit 120,000 students in the next four years.

Eligibility Criteria

Applicant Must:

Have domicile from any district of the Punjab
Not be older than 22 years of age on closing date
Family monthly income should be less than Rs 300,000 (Affidavit Required) (Download Sample Affidavit)
The Applicant must be enrolled in Selected Disciplines in the Selected Universities / Colleges
Minimum FSc./Intermediate marks:
- Medical Colleges > 80%
- Top 07-Universities > 80%
- Public Sector Universities > 75% for Sciences and > 70% for Arts and Social Sciences
- HED Colleges > 65% for Sciences and > 60% for Arts and Social Sciences
