Higher Education Commission (HEC) has announced an extension in the date for Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarships.
The deadline for the scholarship now is 24 December 2019.
Originally the last date for applying for the Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarships was December 10, 2019.
Public sector universities participating in the Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarships Programme have been instructed to announce the extension of date on their individual campuses.
The Prime Minister Imran Khan had launched the biggest ever in the history of Pakistan Ehsaas Undergraduate Programme on November 4, 2019.
Under this project, 200,000 scholarships will be awarded to the talented and deserving students belonging to the low-income brackets. Every year 50,000 scholarships will be awarded to students from all over Pakistan.
The scholarship is for talented students belonging to low-income families.
Students enrolled in the undergraduate degree programmes at the public sector universities can avail this opportunity if they have met all the admission criteria of the respective universities.
You are not eligible if you are
- On other scholarships or grants
- Admitted on a self-financing basis
- Enrolled in distant learning programmes
Fifty per cent of the scholarships are reserved for deserving female students.
Ehsaas Undergraduate Scholarships programme is the largest need-based programme where 200,000 scholarships will be awarded over a period of four years time.
Annually 50,000 scholarships will be provided to students throughout the country for the four – five-year undergraduate degree programme.
Reason for Extention
The last date to apply for the undergraduate scholarships now is 24 December. The reason for the extension as announced is due to repeated requests received from universities and students for the extension in date.
The approved public sector universities under the project have also been asked to notify new date in their main campuses/sub-campuses.
