ISLAMABAD: False news has been circulating regarding schools in Pakistan remaining closed till October as confirmed by Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood.
The Education Minister took to Twitter confirming that any news regarding schools in Pakistan remaining closed till October are “false new” and the final decision will be made in the meeting of educational ministers on September 7th.

Schools in Pakistan are likely to open in a phased manner according to the Federal Education Minister Shafqat Mahmood who tweeted:
Some fake accounts in my name are spreading false news that schools will remain closed till Oct. Not true. Education ministers meet on 7th to finally decide with likelihood of opening on Sept 15 in a phased manner,
In related news, Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani presided over a meeting of the provincal education department and discussed reopening of schools in Sindh including the guidelines to keep students and teachers safe from the coronavirus.
He expressed satisfaction over the coronavirus situation in the country which has significantly improved mentioning that the final decision regarding reopening of schools in Pakistan will be taken on 7th September 2020.
According to his recommendations, schools in Sindh will open in a phased manner with class nine onwards returning from September 15 while class six to eight will resume from September 21st.
Similarly, primary up to class five students will return to school on September 28. However, final decision will be taken on Monday (7th September).
The Sindh Education Minister also warned schools from reopening before the agreed date saying that legal action will be taken against institutions going against orders.
