KARACHI: There will be no winter vacations for schools in Sindh this year (2020) according to the provincial education minister Saeed Ghani.
According to the education minister, there have already been more holidays than usual this year due to the coronavirus pandemic and students cannot afford more educational losses.
Therefore, the education minister suggested that there should not be any winter vacations in Sindh schools this year to make up for the time already wasted during the closure of schools.
However, the matter will further be discussed next week on 23 November during a meeting of all education ministers and the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC).
On Monday, the education ministers decided that schools will not be closed yet and the matter will be discussed next week regarding extended winter vacations or closure of educational institutions.
The education ministry has branched out of its own domain to at least recommend the closure of markets and businesses before the final decision is taken regarding schools.
