Punjab Schools Violate Summer Vacations by Forcing Students to Take Classes

Several private schools in have continued their morning classes going against the directions of the Punjab School Education Department, which announced summer vacations in the province from June 1 to July 31. According to the Dawn, some private schools forced students to attend classes in color clothes, while others had students attend online classes.

The Punjab Government announced summer vacations in the province from June 1 to July 31 and directed district education authority to take action against the schools opening during this period. However, there are many private schools which have gone against the government’s instructions and forced students to attend classes in the name of completing the course work.

Lahore DEA Chief Executive Officer Pervaiz Akhtar has said that five teams have been constituted to raid schools in different areas of the city and take action against the violators. Meanwhile, the parents of these students strongly protested the decision of these schools saying that it was becoming difficult to drop off and pick up their children in this heat.
