Marvel Studios has finally revealed spine-chilling first look footage of the Eternals, a highly anticipated forthcoming fighters venture by Oscar winning director Chloe Zhao. Starring the drop dead gorgeous Angelina Jolie as a blonde superhero alongside Richard Madden and Salma Hayek, the action-packed sneak peek let slip the movie to be slated for November 5, 2021 release, as part of MCU’s phase 4 movies.
On Monday, 3 May 2021, Marvel Studios dropped an enchanting three minutes long teaser, throwing away the first look at its majorly awaited adventure story ‘The Eternals.’
Marvel’s Eternals will bring a new suite of characters to the studio, a group of immortal beings with eccentric powers, created by nigh-omnipotent space beings at the dawn of civilization. As per the narratives, The Eternals have lived secretly among us for thousands of years, never dying, never aging, yet inspiring some of humanity’s greatest myths. And, following the events of Avengers: Endgame, an unexpected tragedy forces these secret creatures out of the shadows to unify against mankind’s most ancient enemy, the Deviants.
The official premise reads for the Eternals reads,
After an unexpected tragedy following the events of Avengers: Endgame, the Eternals—an immortal alien race created by the Celestials who have secretly lived on Earth for over 7,000 years, reunite to protect humanity from their evil counterparts, the Deviants.
The recently dropped footage of the Eternals gives an insight of this approaching supernatural endeavor, where the leading lady Angelina Jolie playing ‘Then’ was spotted in Blonde locks, and wielding a blade. Other than that, the teaser also shows Salma Hayek as Ajak, the Eternals’ leader, Lia McHugh as the youthful-seeming Sprite, Richard Madden as Ikari, Gemma Chan as Sersi; and Kumail Nanjiani as Kingo.
The movie was originally due for a November 6, 2020 release date. But, after numerous delays, it is finally geared up to hit the theatres on November 5, 2021.
Moreover, along with the Eternals teaser, the Marvel’s recent short footage also had a few more surprises in store for its followers. The studio unveiled the official premiere dates for nine other upcoming thrillers, sharing glimpses of each. Hence, the lineup for phase 4 movies includes the critically acclaimed Black Panther Wakanda Forever, Black Widow, and Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness among others.
The teaser starts off with a heart-touching background narrative, saying “We go to escape, to get lost in a story, to feel connected, to share moments we will remember forever.” And, within seconds, the fan-favorite superheroes take over the screen.
