Miss World winners list through the years is compiled here. Part 1 of the compiled list included the years from 1951 to 1960.

It is the biggest beauty pageant is the biggest event in the world. The first event of Miss World was held in London in the year 1951. In the first edition of the contest, a total of 26 contestants participated in the event.

Over the years the number of contestants has increased, beauties all over the world participate in the contest every year.

1951 – It was the first edition of the pageant originally known as Festival Bikini Contest. A total of 26 girls participated in the competition.

1952 – In the second edition of Miss World, only 11 girls participated in the competition.

1953 – In the third edition, only fifteen girls participated in the competition.

1954- In the fourth edition of the contest 16 contestants participated. It was held in London, England on October 18, 1954.

1955 – The fifth edition of the beauty pageant was held on 20 October 1955 at the Lyceum Ballroom in London, United Kingdom. Twenty-one contestants participated in the event.

1956 – The sixth edition took place on 18 October 1956 at the Lyceum Ballroom in London, United Kingdom. Twenty four contestants participated in the event.

1957 – The seventh edition was held on 14 October 1957 at the Lyceum Ballroom in London, United Kingdom. Twenty Three contestants participated in the event.

1958 – The eighth edition took place on 13 October 1958 at the Lyceum Ballroom in London, United Kingdom. Twenty-Two contestants participated in the event.

1959 – The ninth edition was held on 10 November 1959 at the Lyceum Ballroom in London, United Kingdom. Thirty-Seven contestants participated in the event.

1960 – The tenth edition was held on 9 November 1959 at the Lyceum Ballroom in London, United Kingdom. Thirty-Nine contestants participated in the event.

Kiki Hakansson – Miss world 1951

Kerstin Kiki Hakansson, Swedish model was crowned Miss world 1951. She became the first Miss World after winning the beauty pageant. It was held in London, at the Lyceum Ballroom on July 27th, 1951.

May- Louise Flodin – Miss World 1952

Denise Perrier – Miss World 1953

Denise Perrie won the third edition of the beauty pageant in 1953. She was a French Actress and a model. She now goes by the name Denise Perrie Lanfranchi. She is still the only French woman to have won the title. She was judges at the finals of Miss World 2005, 2010, 2011 and 2013.

She also competed in Miss Universe in 1958, where she made to the list of top 15 finalists and won Miss Photogenic award.
