The travel hours are from 5 am to 5 pm due to weather conditions and the ongoing snow clearance on both sides of the road. The Deputy Commissioner of Diamer issued a detailed travel advisory for commuters to ensure their safety.

Key Points from the Travel Advisory:

  1. Check Weather Alerts: Plan your journey after reviewing the weather updates from the Meteorological Department.
  2. Steep Gradient Warning: The road from Babusar top to Zero Point KKH (50 km) is very steep, which can cause brake failure. Avoid using brakes frequently.
  3. Use Heavy Gear: Drive slowly and use heavy gear to control speed and reduce brake usage.
  4. Weather Precaution: Stop traveling if it rains or snows on the top.
  5. Follow Traffic Rules: Adhere to traffic rules and cooperate with security forces.
  6. Emergency Help: Seek assistance from local volunteers, known as Razakars, if needed.
  7. Protect the Environment: Do not litter; a fine under Section 144 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CrPC) applies.
  8. Respect Local Culture: Avoid making noise and playing loud music; respect local customs.
  9. Emergency Contacts: In case of an emergency, contact the following numbers: 1122, 05812-15, 05812-930037, and 05812-920181.

The government emphasizes the importance of following these guidelines to ensure a safe and pleasant journey for all travelers. This advisory aims to minimize accidents and environmental harm while respecting the local community and culture.

The advisory also mentions the officials and departments involved in ensuring the safe reopening of the road. These include local and regional police officers and administrative officials. The Deputy Commissioner encourages travelers to stay informed and cautious during their trips on this route.
