Biometric verification mandatory for registration and transfer of vehicle

ISLAMABAD: The Excise & Taxation Department of Islamabad has made the process of biometric verification mandatory for the registration and transfer of vehicle from March 1st 2019.

The Biometric verification system was introduced in May 2018 in Islamabad through which buyer and sellers to appear at the excise office to get their vehicle transferred.

The biometric system is compulsory for new registration as well as for transfer of the vehicle. This will eliminate the chances of driving a vehicle on an open letter. – Director Excise & Taxation Islamabad Muhammad Bilal Azam

Recently Excise & Taxation Islamabad relaunched ‘Islamabad Vehicle Verification Online‘ portal to verify vehicle’s registration information.

One window operation has been setup at Excise Office Islamabad to register a new vehicle and for transferring.

It is illegal to drive any vehicle on an open letter from March 1st 2019 the biometric system will be mandatory for buyers and sellers to transfer their vehicle immediately.
