SBP to Celebrate Women Entrepreneurship Day on November 19, 2024

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) will mark Women Entrepreneurship Day (WED) on November 19, 2024, in a grand event inaugurated by SBP Governor Mr. Jameel Ahmad. The event will bring together top officials from banks, non-bank institutions, and working women associations to honor the crucial contributions of women entrepreneurs to Pakistan’s economy.

As part of the celebration, high-performing banks that have consistently provided loans to female borrowers will receive special recognition awards. Additionally, awards will be presented to women-led businesses across various categories, celebrating their outstanding achievements in the entrepreneurial world.

The event will feature a mix of on-ground and virtual activities across Pakistan. Commercial banks will collaborate to create customized financial products for women-led businesses. Other initiatives include workshops, awareness campaigns about SBP’s SME financing, and mentorship programs aimed at empowering aspiring businesswomen and enhancing their eligibility for loans.

Women Entrepreneurship Day is a global initiative that recognizes women who drive innovation, create jobs, and play a significant role in economic growth. Despite their contributions, many women face challenges in accessing finance and business opportunities.
