The authorities in Quetta have announced that all educational institutions, including schools and colleges will remain closed for two days from 17 March 2022 to 18 March 2022 due to security reasons. The announcement was made by Balochistan Education Minister Naseebullah Marri on Thursday.

According to the details, all public and private educational institutions, including schools and colleges, will remain closed in Quetta on Thursday and Friday.

Matric Exams Postponed in Quetta

Meanwhile, the Government has also postponed the matric exams scheduled for Thursday and Friday as schools will remain closed in Quetta. However, the examination in other districts will continue as planned and new dates of the postponed matric exams in Quetta will be announced later by the Education Department.

Reasons

The decision comes in the wake of a security alert issued by the provincial home department, which led to the Education Department shutting down all educational activities in the provincial capital. Meanwhile, Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Balochistan has been given directives to improve the security arrangements across the province.
