Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program payments start, gets over 38mn SMS

ISLAMABAD: The Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program payments start according to some reports and the program has received over 38mn SMS till Tuesday according to Dr Sania Nishtar who said on Twitter:

Till Tuesday morning, we have received thirty million, eighty six lac, fifty six thousand, eight hundred and thirty seven(38,656,837) SMS through the people from different areas under Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program

Under the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program poor and deserving people will receive a financial aid of Rs. 12,000 and the program will prioritize the lower socio-economic class and the daily wage earners who are having the hard time due to the coronavirus lockdown.

The Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program aims at helping 12 million families with an apporved budget of Rs. 150 billion raised from the earlier budget of Rs. 144 billion.

According to Dr Sania Nishtar, there are over 18,065 retail points where people will be able to get their payments including the biometric ATMs of Habib Bank (HBL) and Al-Falah Bank.

When will payment process for Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program begin?

Although Dr Sania Nishtar said that the payment process for the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program will start from 8 April 2020, there have been reports of people starting to receive their payments. Though it is to be noted, that these reports of payments are not confirmed and taken from the social media.

اگرچہ ڈاکٹر ثانیہ نشتر نے کہا کہ احساس ایمرجنسی کیش پروگرام کے لئے ادائیگی کا عمل 8 اپریل 2020 سے شروع ہوگا ، تاہم ایسی اطلاعات موصول ہوئی ہیں کہ لوگوں نے ان کی ادائیگی وصول کرنا شروع کردی ہے۔ اگرچہ یہ بات قابل دید ہے ، کہ ادائیگی کی ان خبروں کی تصدیق نہیں کی جاتی ہے اور انٹرنیٹ سے لی گئی ہے۔

The receipt shows payment made to an applicant of the Ehsaas Emergency Cash Program in KPK which means that the payment process might have already started and will speed up gradually sending payment to more people.
