KARACHI: Chief Minister of Sindh Murad Ali Shah has urged people to celebrate this Eid-ul-Fitr with simplicity since the recent relaxation in lockdown following the decision of the Supreme Court could lead to a rise in coronavirus cases in the coming days.
He asked people to not visit their villages on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr as that would lead to spread of the virus in remote areas of the province where is will be difficult to manage because of improper resources.
Murad Ali Shah highlighted the fact that the country’s health system was already under a lot of pressure from the coronavirus pandemic and remote areas where there are limited resources could not cope with the spread of the virus.
The Chief Minister also made an announcement that a proposal was going to be put before the cabinet providing a compensation package to the families of doctors who have lost their lives fighting the coronavirus pandemic pointing out that policemen get a similar package laying down their lives in the line of duty and so should the doctors on the front line of the war against his virus.
Similarly Balochistan Government also changed its decision regarding opening of public transport in the province over the same fears of spreading the virus to the remote regions where it would become difficult to manage,
