The Election Commission of Pakistan has said that only Dr.Farooq Sattar can issue the Senate tickets under the Election Act 2017.
The Rabita Committee had written a letter to the ECP, challenging Farooq Sattar’s authority as party convener to issue the tickets.
The committee has stripped Farooq Sattar of the authority to issue the tickets and authorized Khalid Maqbool Siddiqui in his place.
The deadlock continued within the MQM Pakistan as one group agreed to reconciliation.
Faisal Sabazwari said that the Rabita Committee is authorized to issue the tickets under the constitution. Rauf Siddiqui said that there is nothing to worry as differences in the party are a routine matter.
Sources said that the MQM Pakistan chief could dissolve the Rabita Committee.
Talking to the media, Farooq Sattar said that he is not bad at heart. “The system cannot run if the head cannot make decisions,” he added.
He said that he is an elected chief of the MQM and the ECP would also ask him to issue the tickets.
