ISLAMABAD: Former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and former Interior Minister Rehman Malik and both denied the allegations of rape made by Pakistani based US blogger Cynthia D Ritchie.
Ex-PM Yousaf Raza Gilani while talking to ARY News said that the only reason Cynthia Ritchie was accusing him for such acts was because of the legal action his two sons had pursued against the blogger for her defamatory posts against the late Bezanir Bhutto.
I had gone to the Cyber Crime FIA against Cynthia’s baseless allegations on our party leader, late Benazir Bhutto Shaheed. So this [Cynthia Ritchie] decided to attack my father former prime minster Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani. He has responded to her filthy allegation.
He further stated that his father treated women with respect and that Cynthia herself called him a gentleman. Ali Haider Gilani tweet saying:
I would like to make it very clear that my father is a man of great integrity and has respected every women he ever met. I have never heard him even speak to a lady in a loud voice at home or outside. He is a champion of women’s rights and has always advocated for women empowerment. Cynthia D Ritchie herself few months back 2019 on a public what’s app group had told me that she met my father few days back and he was a true gentleman and wanted to inquire about his health. I thanked her for remarks and told her he is doing good.
Rehman Malik denies allegations by Cynthia D Ricthie according to his spokesperson
The spokesperson of the Senator Rehman Malik said that the ex-Interior Minister has denied all these allegations but will not be directly responding to the blogger.
According to Dawn News, the spokesperson said that the allegations were made to harm the reputation of Senator Rehman Malik. He also said that the allegations came because of Rehman Malik’s stance on the tweet made by Cynthia Ritchie against late Benazir Bhutto.
Cynthia Ritchie took to Twitter saying that Rehman Malik should be asked about the night of the incident and if he remembers the flowers, gift and what she wore that night because she remembers that clearly.
