The Federal Authority, for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) has set a framework for administrative violations related to Emirates ID cards, residency services and matters concerning foreigners with fines that vary from Dh20 to Dh20,000 based on the offense. Some violations include impeding or not assisting ICP staff, neglecting service payments and providing details each punishable, with a fine of Dh5,000.
Additionally, there are six violations with a Dh500 fine, including submitting transactions under false pretenses and non-compliance with service center protocols. Other fines include Dh3,000 for providing incorrect data, Dh100 for printing application inaccuracies, and Dh20 per day (up to Dh1,000) for late renewal of Emirates ID cards.
Exceptions to late fines for Emirates ID cards apply to individuals who have left the UAE for over three months after their card’s expiration, those deported by court order or administrative decision, and individuals who were not issued an ID card prior to obtaining UAE nationality. ICP reported completing over 5 million residency transactions from January to October 2023, encompassing new permits and renewals, demonstrating the scale of electronic government services’ utilization during that period.
