JHELUM: An Imam was caught while attempting rape of a minor girl in Jhelum and beaten by angry mob who dragged him on the street for almost two hours.
According to sources, the victim was a six-year-old girl who visited the mosque to study and learn the Quran when she became the victim of such a heinous crime.
The accused has been identified as Jamshed Iqbal who served as the Imam of Masjid Qaim Deen at Masheen Mohalla in Jhelum where the rape incident took place.

According to officials, Imam Jamshed Iqbal has been taken into custody and a First Information Report (FIR) has been registered against him for allegedly attempting to rape a six-year-old girl.
The accused was reportedly caught by the victim’s parents who informed the locals of the incident after which people gathered on the spot and started beating the Imam later dragging him on the street half naked.
In another video, the Imam tried to pin the entire incident on the six-year-old saying that when he entered the room, the minor girl started taking off her clothes and that he did not rape her.
Sexual assault and violence against women and children is increasing day by day and the citizens of the country are outraged over the recent incidents taking to social media demanding strict action against the culprits.
The recent incident of Lahore motorway gang rape has shocked the nation along with another incident involving a five-year-old girl named Marwah who was raped and murdered in Gujranwala.
