Imran Khan elected as Prime Minister of Pakistan

ISLAMABAD – Imran Khan has been elected as the Leader of the House and will be the next prime minister of Pakistan. Speaker Asad Qaiser announced the results. Imran Khan received 176 votes, while Shehbaz Sharif received 96 votes.

Pakistan People Party (PPP) did not participate in voting process in National Assembly.

Tomorrow, Imran Khan will take oath as New Prime Minister of Pakistan at President House Islamabad at 9am.
