Islamabad Traffic Plan for Central Procession of Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW)

The Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) has issued a traffic diversion plan for the central procession in connection with Eid Milad-un-Nabi (SAW), set to take place on 17th September 2024. The procession will commence at 11:00 AM from sector G-7, passing through multiple locations before reaching its final destination at Faisal Avenue, near CDA G-6/2 hospital.

Route of the Procession: The central procession will begin from 12 Imam Bargah G-7 and proceed through the G-7/3 route before concluding at CDA G-6/2 hospital. The procession is expected to last until 10:00 PM, and citizens are advised to avoid the designated procession routes during these hours to prevent traffic congestion.

Key Traffic Diversion Points:

  1. Traffic from Aabpara to Faisal Avenue will be diverted to alternate routes.
  2. Traffic from G-7/3 will be diverted to other routes.
  3. Traffic heading from Fazal Haq Road to G-7 will be diverted to China Chowk.
  4. Kashmir Highway traffic heading to Aabpara will be rerouted.
  5. Entry from Zero Point to 7th Avenue will be blocked.
  6. Traffic from Melody to Aabpara will be diverted towards Sir Syed Road.

Alternate Routes:

  • Vehicles should use Service Road as an alternate route.
  • Vehicles heading to G-7 should use 7th Avenue.
  • Those traveling towards Melody should take the Shaheed-e-Millat Road.
  • For access to Dhokri and Rawal Dam, use the Margalla Road.
