The Malaysian Prime Minister, who is arriving today, is expected to stay until October 4th. In light of this, multiple VIP movements across the twin cities of Islamabad and Rawalpindi are expected, with no prior announcements. This situation is compounded by the PTI’s protest call scheduled for October 4th, leading to precautionary measures, including container placements along various critical roads.

Key Container Locations

According to Champ Alerts, containers have been placed in the following areas:

  • 26 No. Taxila
  • Faizabad (I-8 Side) – Expressway
  • IJP Double Road
  • Margala Road entry point, Sangjani
  • In front of Anjuman Faiz ul Islam, Faizabad
  • G-11 Chowk, Golra Morr Flyover/Underpass
  • Zero Point

Containers will likely be stationed at all major entry points of Islamabad, particularly in areas leading toward D-Chowk, where the protest is expected to intensify. Commuters traveling within the twin cities should anticipate heavy traffic and delays, particularly on the day of the protest.

Roads to Be Blocked

The roads are expected to face closures from midnight on October 4th, adding further complications for those commuting between Islamabad and Rawalpindi.

Today’s Travel Advisory

For today and October 3rd, roads remain open, although expressway users should expect delays due to ongoing road works, potentially adding 30-45 minutes to their commute.

Advisory for October 4th

Champ Alerts strongly advises anyone with scheduled travel plans on October 4th to reconsider or postpone their journey. Should the protest proceed as planned, significant disruptions are expected throughout the twin cities. Travelers are urged to plan accordingly to avoid being caught in traffic or other inconveniences.

This advisory highlights the potential traffic woes and the need for travelers to remain vigilant as Islamabad braces for a combination of VIP movements and a large-scale protest.
