Khan Accepts Omar Ayub’s Resignation as PTI Secretary General

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan has accepted the resignation of Omar Ayub from his position as the party’s Secretary General.

Speaking to the media, Omar Ayub stated, “I had requested the Senate opposition leader to submit my resignation to the Founding Chairman during their meeting. I am grateful to the Founding Chairman for accepting my resignation.”

Ayub revealed that he had initially tendered his resignation on June 22, but it was not accepted at that time. He explained that the workload of being the opposition leader, handling legal cases, serving as PTI’s Secretary General, and overseeing constitutional matters had become overwhelming.

Despite stepping down from his role as Secretary General, Ayub assured his continued commitment to the party, saying, “I will continue to work as a PTI worker alongside the Founding Chairman.”

Salman Akram Raja Likely to Replace Omar Ayub

Sources indicate that Salman Akram Raja is expected to be appointed as the new Secretary General of PTI, following Omar Ayub’s resignation.

The final candidate will announced by Imran Khan, PTI Founder.

Farhan Abro

Hello! My name is Farhan Abro, and I'm based here in Islamabad. My journey in Pakistan's digital media really kicked off when I founded INCPak back in 2012. We built it from the ground up, driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, to be a trusted voice for independent journalism. But while media is a big part of who I am, I'm also shaped by a fascinating mix of other passions. I'm deeply into automotive, which gives me a technical edge, but I also find my artistic expression through landscape photography and music. And I'm always diving into the exciting world of Artificial Intelligence. Bringing all these different worlds together the technical, the creative, the journalistic, and the entrepreneurial—it really colors how I see things and approach every project. It gives me a distinct perspective that I try to bring to everything I share
