No exploratory activities by India for oil‚ gas reported at Sir Creek

The Senate was informed today that there has been no report of exploratory activities being carried out by India in the dispute area of Sir Creek in search of oil and gas.

Minister for Foreign Affairs Hina Rabbani Khar replying to a question in the House said the area is under surveillance by Pakistan Maritime Security Agency and Pakistan Navy.

The Minister said Pakistan has been making efforts to bring the relations with India to normalization but the negotiations can only be successful if other party shows flexibility too. She said the issue of Sir Creek can be resolved easily in comparison with other bilateral issues with India.

On another question‚ she said we will not let the individual incidents make the negotiation process hostage in any case. She said Pakistan is committed to peace with all its neighbors including India and it has manifested it through various steps
