Pakistan, China sign 8 cooperative agreements, MoUs

BEIJING: Pakistan and China signed eight documents of cooperation in various areas of economy here Friday for furthering already strong economic and technical ties between two friendly countries.
The first pact pertaining to an ambitious long term project approximately costing $18 billion that would include building around 200 kilomters tunnels was Pak-China Economic corridor.Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal signed the pact from Pakistani side while Chairman National Development and Reforms Commission of PRC, Xu Shao Shi inked the pact on China side.The Chinese Premier said that China has strategic interest in this Corridor. The Agreement on Economic and Technical cooperation between the Government of Pakistan and China was also inked. The Advisor to Prime Minister on foreign Affairs Tariq Fatemi signed the agreement.
Two letter of exchanges were also signed one on training courses for textile, flood relief and disastrous management and provision of equipment for eradication of Polio.
Another MoU was signed for cooperation and exchanges between Pakistan Muslim League (N) and Ruling Communist Party of China .
Advisor Tariq Fatemi signed an other MoU for cooperation between Institute of Strategic Study and China Institute of Contemporary Study.
Another document was signed between Strategic Communication organization of Pakistan and Huawei company for laying optic fiber for setting up communication link between Pakistan and China.
The Punjab Minister of Energy Choudhry Sher Ali Khan signed MoU on Local home solar solution project. The Chief of the ZTE signed the documents on Chinese side.
These agreements and MoU were signed in the presence of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Premier Li Keqaing.
