Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) has announced to stage a protest at Shahrah-e-Faisal on Sunday (16 January 2022). The JI leadership is staging a sit-in at the Shahrah-e-Faisal to protest against the controversial Sindh Local Government (LG) law.
Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Karachi Chief Naeem-ur-Rehman has announced that arterial Shahrah-e-Faisal will be completely blocked at 3:00PM on Sunday (16 January 2022).
Meanwhile, JI Chief Sirajul Haq has appealed to the entire country to come forward on Sunday at Shahrah-e-Faisal protest in Karachi to show solidarity with the Karachi people against the Sindh Local Government Law.
PPP Contacts JI
The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) has contacted the Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) leadership after the announcement of the protest (Dharna) at Shahrah-e-Faisal on Sunday.
Minister for Local Bodies Syed Nasir Shah has contacted JI Karachi Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman to discuss their protest call and a delegation of the Sindh Ministers will attend JI’s protest today and meet with Naeem-ur-Rehman.
The delegation will try and convince JI to call off their protest at Shahrah-e-Faisal.
