Jinnah International Airport Security beefed up

After a last month’s terrorist attack near Karachi’s Jinnah International Airport, the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) is implementing stricter entry measures to improve safety. Last month, a large explosion near the airport killed three people, including two Chinese citizens, and injured at least 16 others.

In response, security forces arrested three suspects, including a woman, believed to be involved in the attack, according to Sindh Home Minister Zia Ul Hassan Lanjar.

The new rules require people coming to the airport to receive or see off passengers to bring a copy of the traveler’s ticket and their national ID card. Only four people can accompany each traveler, and without these documents, entry will be denied. The Pakistan Airports Authority said these changes are intended to enhance security and reduce risks for everyone at the airport.

The stricter rules will soon be enforced by airport security teams.

Farhan Abro

Hello! My name is Farhan Abro, and I'm based here in Islamabad. My journey in Pakistan's digital media really kicked off when I founded INCPak back in 2012. We built it from the ground up, driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, to be a trusted voice for independent journalism. But while media is a big part of who I am, I'm also shaped by a fascinating mix of other passions. I'm deeply into automotive, which gives me a technical edge, but I also find my artistic expression through landscape photography and music. And I'm always diving into the exciting world of Artificial Intelligence. Bringing all these different worlds together the technical, the creative, the journalistic, and the entrepreneurial—it really colors how I see things and approach every project. It gives me a distinct perspective that I try to bring to everything I share
