The Petrol Prices in Pakistan will remain unchanged from 16 April 2022 to 30 April 2022 on the directives of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, who rejected the summary presented by the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA), in order to provide relief to the masses amid already high inflation in the country.
According to the announced, Petrol Price in Pakistan will remain unchanged at Rs. 149.86 per litre, while the Price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) in Pakistan will also remain at the current rate of Rs. 144.15 per litre. Meanwhile, the Price of Kerosene Oil will remain at Rs. 125.56 per litre, while the Price of Light Diesel Oil (LDO) will remain at Rs. 118.31 per litre.

The Petrol Prices in Pakistan with effect from 16 April 2022 will remain unchanged as per the announcement by the PML-N Economy Twitter handle. “OGRA summary rejected, PM decides not to increase prices of petroleum products.” said the statement on Twitter.

OGRA had originally recommended to increase the Petrol Price in Pakistan by Rs. 21.30 per litre starting 16 April 2022. Meanwhile, the summary also suggested a hike of Rs. 51.32 per litre in the Price of High-Speed Diesel. This recommendation was based on the current level of Petroleum Levy and GST, which is at 0%.
It is pertinent to mention that OGRA had also made a summary with implementation of full Petroleum Levy and GST, which stands at Rs. 30 and 17%, respectively. According to that summary, the OGRA had recommended an increase of Rs. 83.50 in the Petrol Price, while suggesting an increase of Rs. 119 per litre in the Price of High-Speed Diesel.
However, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has rejected the summaries and decided the keep the Petrol Prices in Pakistan unchanged for the remainder of the month from 16 April 2022 to 30 April 2022 in line with the decision of the Former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
