Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) has lifted the ban on green meters for solar systems, marking a significant shift in the city’s renewable energy landscape.
A recently issued notification by LESCO permits the temporary installation of bi-directional green meters until October 15. Consumers will now receive No Objection Certificates (NOCs) for these meters, allowing for their use in solar systems.

This decision comes after LESCO’s earlier mandate to install AMI meters instead of green meters starting from July 1, 2024.
