KARACHI: Two suspects in the Marwah rape and murder case have been remanded into police custody after approval from an Anti-terrorism court on Tuesday.
According to details, the two suspects named Faiz and Abdullah have been handed over to police on physical remand for further investigation into the case involving the rape and murder of five-year-old Marwah that shook the nation.
Furthermore, the police stated that one suspect by the name of Rab Nawaz was set free as no evidence could be collected against him for involvement in the crime.
According to sources, the two suspects have confessed to raping and killing the six-year-old Marwah and later disposing off her body. However, the suspects claim that the child passed away while they were raping her but the MLO report says otherwise.
The Medico Legal Officer (MLO) at the Karachi Jinnah Hospital Dr Zakia Khursheed confirmed that the girl was raped before her death and the cause of her death was blunt force trauma to he head.
About the incident
Five-year-old Marwah was found raped and murdered on September 6th, two days after she went missing from old Sabzi Mandi area.
The medical examination of the body confirmed that the young girl was subjected to raped and the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the head after which her body was torched in garbage by the suspect.
The news of the rape and murder of five-year-old Marwah shocked the entire country and people came to social media demanding justice for the little girl.
Castration & hanging of rapists
In a recent interview on television, Prime Minister Imran Khan has suggested castration and hanging of rapists once proven guilty and the government is expected to present a bill in the parliament for approval soon.
According to sources, the Federal Minister for Water Resources Faisal Vawda has been given the task of furnishing the draft bill which will be presented before the parliament for approval.
