Mastang: Blast targeting Siraj Raisani’s convoy, 7 killed 35 injured

Mastang: Blast ripped through a convoy of Balochistan Awami Party leader Siraj Raisani in Mastung, killing at least seven people and ‘critically injuring’ the BAP leader.

Initial reports say that at least 35 people have been injured in the attack. Siraj Raisani is the younger brother of former chief minister Balochistan Nawab Aslam Raisani.

According to Sources, it was a strong blast that has claimed seven lives as of now. He said the death toll has been confirmed by deputy commissioner Mastung.

Our correspondent reports that Raisani has been critically injured in the attack and he was moved to nearby hospital in a private car.

The BAP leader’s convoy came under attack shortly after he attended a corner meeting for provincial assembly seat PB-35.

Law enforcers have cordoned off the area with rescue teams kicking off operation in the area to transport the injured to nearby hospital.

Raisani is a candidate of the Balochistan Awami Party, formed earlier this year, from PB-35 constituency.

In July 2011, Raisani lost his 14-year-old son in a terrorist attack in Mastung, in which several others, including security personnel, were killed.

We built it from the ground up, driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, to be a trusted voice for independent journalism. But while media is a big part of who I am, I'm also shaped by a fascinating mix of other passions. I'm deeply into automotive, which gives me a technical edge, but I also find my artistic expression through landscape photography and music. And I'm always diving into the exciting world of Artificial Intelligence. Bringing all these different worlds together the technical, the creative, the journalistic, and the entrepreneurial—it really colors how I see things and approach every project. It gives me a distinct perspective that I try to bring to everything I share
