Earlier today, the Sindh education minister Saeed Ghani said that schools are unlikely to reopen in January because of the ongoing second wave of the coronavirus pandemic while addressing a press conference in Karachi.

Educational institutes were closed last month from 26th November till 10th January 2020 on the recommendation of the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) due to the rising number of coronavirus cases in the country.

Schools were supposed to reopen on January 11th after a meeting of all education ministers keeping in view the coronavirus situation across the country at the time.
