Sindh Information Minister, Sharjeel Memon, has ordered concerned authorities for the immediate launch of electric buses under the Peoples Bus Service along with finalization of its first route in Karachi.
The announcement was made during a meeting chaired by the Information Minister, Sharjeel Memon, regarding the Peoples Bus Service and participants discussed the procurement of new buses along with introduction of new routes for the service in Karachi.
Memon added that the provincial government has already approved the purchase of new buses to be added to the Peoples Bus Service as citizens of Karachi are demanding new routes. Furthermore, he added that first route of the new electric buses will be launched soon.
Last year, the minister announced that Sindh’s Transport Department was going to launch electric buses under the Peoples Bus Service. “These are Pakistan’s first electrical vehicles which are completely environment friendly.” he added on Twitter.
