PM Imran Khan Condemn Data Darbar Attack

LAHORE: PM Imran Khan strongly condemned the Data Darbar Attack. He has asked the Punjab Government to provide full support to the injured and the families of victims.

Shah Mahmood Qureshi also condemns the Data Darbar attack. He has also tweeted

To destroy the peace in Islam’s holiest month is not just an act of terror & cowardice but shows a complete lack of faith. I pray those we have lost today are rewarded with the highest place in Jannah.

Ambassador of Denmark Rolf Holmboe to Pakistan has also extended his heartfelt condolences, he tweeted

Bilawal Bhutto Zardari Tweeted

Senator Sherry Rehman also tweeted

Strongly condemn the #DaataDarbar attack. We salute our brave police and citizens and their families injured and martyred in this terror attack. But must do more than that. Govt should at least act on NAP and convene the parliamentary committee on National Security in 9 months

Punjab’s Police Chief confirmed ten casualties. Among these ten dead include five policemen.

Twenty other have been injured, nine of them are in critical condition.

The blast occurred at 8.40 am on Wednesday.

It happened near a Elite Force Mobile Van parked at Gate No.2.

Four policemen and a driver were in the van.

Driver was not in the van when the blast occurred.

Nearby cars were also damaged in the attack.

Punjab IG Arif Nawaz speaking to media outside the shrine said 7kg bomb was used. He also confirmed the Police were the targets.

The suicide bomber could have targeted other locations but they particularity choose one spot and targeted the police van.

As part of security the police are stationed there and present through out the day.

Condemnations and condolences are pouring in from all over the country.
