PM Khan took notice of Kasur incident

ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Imran Khan took notice on Wednesday of Kasur incident in which the dead bodies (remains) of three minor boys were recovered allegedly sexually abused and murdered.

PM Khan took notice after, Protesters blocked roads in Chunian and burned tires while chanting slogans against the police.

The demonstrators also surrounded the Chunian police station as they protested against lack of arrests and incidents of child abduction.

“On the Kasur incident: There will be accountability for all. Those who do not perform in the interest of the common man will be taken to task. Following actions have so far been taken by the Punjab police & the provincial govt:

1) DPO Kasur being removed.

2) SP investigation Kasur surrendered, charge sheeted and being proceeded against.

3) DSP and SHO suspended.

4) Major overhaul in Kasur local police on the cards.

5) Formal probe ordered under Addl IG.”

Earlier Minister for Human Rights Shireen Mazari tweets in the morning “Shocking to see continuing stories of child abuse cictims surfacing in Kasur. Our Zaibab Alert bill has been in National Assembly Standing Committee on Human Rights chaired Bilawal Bhutto Zardari for months now. His subcommittee made the final amends with our Minister of Human Rights but the bill languishes in committee not sent to National Assembly.”

Prime Minister is expected to make big changes in Punjab Police reforms as more than 970+ cases registered in just one year of children being sexually abused in different parts of the province and specifically, Kasur is on the top.
