PTI Founding Member and Hospital Owner Shot Dead in Lahore

LAHORE: A founding member of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the owner of a private hospital was shot dead outside a mosque in Lahore, ARY News reported on Friday.

The tragic incident occurred in Valencia Town. Unidentified individuals arrived in a vehicle and targeted Dr. Shahid Siddique just after Friday prayers at Khizra Mosque. They managed to flee the scene immediately after the attack.

Police confirmed that Dr. Siddique was accompanied by his son and driver at the time of the shooting. Thankfully, they escaped unharmed.

Dr. Siddique, however, was hit by four bullets and succumbed to his injuries while being rushed to the nearest hospital.

Authorities have collected evidence from the scene and launched a full-scale investigation. Punjab Police spokesperson stated that IG Punjab, Dr. Usman Anwar, has ordered the immediate arrest of the culprits.

Dr. Shahid Siddique was not only a prominent PTI leader but also a respected figure in the medical community. He had residences in both Johar Town and Valencia Town, Lahore.

The community mourns the loss of a dedicated leader and a compassionate healthcare professional. The investigation continues as officials work tirelessly to bring the perpetrators to justice.
