Prime Minister Imran on Sunday addressed the nation during the PTI Power Show / Jalsa at Parade Ground in Islamabad and said that ‘foreign powers’ were behind the conspiracy to overthrow the government through the no-confidence motion tabled by the country’s joint opposition.

The premier said that foreign powers are using the local politicians through money to interfere the country’s foreign policy towards their interest. “I rarely write my speeches… but I wrote this speech today so that I don’t get emotional and say anything which can affect our foreign policy,” said Prime Minister Imran Khan.

He added that his government had received threats in written form and asserted that he had all the evidence to prove his claims, which he will unveil to everyone at the ‘right time.’ He added that these threats were received due to the policies of previous leaders.

Prime Minister Imran Khan lashed out at PPP leadership, including Bilawal Bhutto and Asif Zardari for forming an alliance with the elements that were involved in the execution of their party’s leaders. “When Zulfikar Ali Bhutto tried to make independent foreign policy… parties of Fazl-ur-Rehman and ‘absconder’ Nawaz Sharif launched a movement against him and later Bhutto was executed,” he added.

“Today foreign elements are trying to affect our foreign policy again… we know the elements who united the killers and the victims… today the time has changed and there is a saying in English you only cross the river once… this is an age of social media where you cannot hide anything.” he added during this address at the PTI Jalsa / Power Show at Parade Ground in Islamabad.

It is pertinent to mention that PTI held one of the largest rallies in the history of the country in Islamabad, where thousands came out to support the country’s leader ahead of the no-confidence motion against him. Prime Minister Imran Khan thanked the nation for coming out to support him.

He also appreciated the party’s lawmakers present at the rally for rejecting the opposition’s attempts to buy them off, while saying that the country was on the right patch to becoming a welfare state like Madina. He added that previously it was not possible for anyone to get a free medical treatment at private hospitals, but it has been made so by the current government for the first time in the history of the country.

Prime Minister Imran Khan added that for the first time in the country’s history, attempts were being made to uplift the poor segment of the society through social welfare programs like Ehsaas Programme. He added that ‘three stooges’ wanted to topple the PTI government to get NRO so that they would not be held accountable for their corrupt actions as leaders of the nation.

He vowed that he will not spare any corrupt leaders, saying that he was even ready to put his own government at stake for this purpose. “No government in the past has performed like my administration has done in the last 3.5 years,” he premier claimed, while adding, “When the entire world was shut down due to coronavirus lockdowns… I did not impose the blanket lockdown… I was criticized that I was destroying the country,”

“Today I stand proud that entire world is acknowledging that we protected the economy as well as people from the pandemic.” he added, while pointing out that World Bank report says that Pakistan has the lowest unemployment rate in the South Asian region due to his government’s policies.

He said that all sectors of the country’s economy, including exports, agriculture, and others witnessed a boom during his tenure and nine mega dams were also being constructed after a gap of 50 years.

Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the country can only benefit when it is run by honest leaders and not corrupt leaders. “International court imposed a fine of Rs2,000 billion few years ago in Reko Diq case… my best team negotiated with them and now a private mining firm is investing $9 billion in Pakistan,”

He added that Rs. 200 billion penalty was imposed on Pakistan in the rental power project and it had now been waived off by Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan after talks with Prime Minister Imran Khan.

It bears mentioning that thousands gathered to support their leader, Prime Minister Imran Khan at the PTI Jalsa / Power Show held at Parade Ground in Islamabad ahead of the no-confidence motion against him by the joint opposition. Several PTI leaders, including Pervaiz Khattak, Ali Zaidi, Shafqat Mahmood, Murad Saeed, Qasim Khan Suri, and Faisal Javed also addressed the gathering in Islamabad.

They vowed that PM Imran will not go anywhere and the opposition’s efforts against the premier will prove futile. Prime Minister Imran Khan also shared an audio clip and termed the March 27 Jalsa / Gathering a day of the ‘battle for Pakistan.’ “We have not taken to streets to save PTI, we are out to fight the battle for Pakistan.” he said.

The premier urged people to leave for the venue at their earliest to avoid traffic gridlock on their way to the Parade Ground. He added that the PTI came out today to make history.
