Punjab Imposes Ban on Burning Of ‘Siri Paye’ on Roads During Eid ul Azha

The Government of Punjab has imposed a ban on burning of ‘Siri Paye’ (body parts of sacrificed animal) on roads and other public places during Eid-ul-Azha.

In a notification issued in this regard, the ban on burning of Siri Paye will be enforced from July 4 to July 12 (third day of Eid-ul-Azha). Furthermore, the Home Department has also imposed a ban on selling sacrificial animals on roadsides, and parks in the province.

The authorities have announced serious legal action against traders and buyers who do not comply with Section 144 in the Province of Punjab.

It is pertinent to mention that Eid-ul-Azha will be observed on 10th July 2022 and the Federal Government has announced five public holidays on the occasion from 8th June to 12th June, 2022.
