Punjab Govt Partially Suspends Mobile Services in 10 Districts

The Government of Punjab has announced a partial suspension of mobile services in 10 districts across the province on 26 August 2024, in observance of the Chehlum of Imam Hussain (RA).

The suspension will be in effect from 5 AM to 11 PM on 26 August, in specific areas where mourning processions are taking place, as confirmed by a spokesperson for the Punjab Home Department.

The districts affected by the suspension include Rawalpindi, Jhang, Layyah, Sargodha, Bhakkar, Mianwali, Gujrat, Gujranwala, Chakwal, and Toba Tek Singh. However, mobile services will continue to function normally in other districts, including Lahore.

This decision has been made to ensure law and order and protect the safety of citizens during the religious observance.

For those in the affected areas, it is advised to plan accordingly and stay informed through alternative means of communication.

Farhan Abro

Hello! My name is Farhan Abro, and I'm based here in Islamabad. My journey in Pakistan's digital media really kicked off when I founded INCPak back in 2012. We built it from the ground up, driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, to be a trusted voice for independent journalism. But while media is a big part of who I am, I'm also shaped by a fascinating mix of other passions. I'm deeply into automotive, which gives me a technical edge, but I also find my artistic expression through landscape photography and music. And I'm always diving into the exciting world of Artificial Intelligence. Bringing all these different worlds together the technical, the creative, the journalistic, and the entrepreneurial—it really colors how I see things and approach every project. It gives me a distinct perspective that I try to bring to everything I share
