Quetta Blast Twenty Dead Many Injured

QUETTA: Twenty people have died and many injured in Quetta blast that took place on Friday morning.

The blast shook the Quetta Hazarganji sabzi mandi early in the morning at 7.35 am, DIG Quetta Abdul Razzaq Cheema said while talking to media.

Twenty people have lost their lives and as many as forty-eight injuries are reported.

Police and the provincial authorities have said:

Mir Zia Ullah Langau  Balochistan Home Minister has said in a press conference that initial investigation reports suggest it was a suicide bombing, and it did not target any particular community.

The injured are being treated at Bolan Medical Complex.

One of the injured victim speaking from the hospital bed have said:

“I was loading a small truck and I heard a huge bang and it seemed as if the earth beneath me had shaken and I fell down,”

“The atmosphere was filled with black smoke and I could not see anything, I could hear people screaming for help and I was also screaming for help.”

“The air was filled with the stinging smell of burnt human flesh”.

Strongly condemn the attack in Quetta. Terrorist groups must be tackled by Govt but it is unable to even convene a meeting of party leaders to share its challenges or say why it is unable or unwilling to implement NAP in any meaningful way. No political party point scores on this

French Embassy in Pakistan has also tweeted

We strongly condemn the heinous attack that killed18 and wounded 30 in #Quetta. Heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and wishes of prompt recovery to those wounded.

I strictly condemn the terrorist attack in #Quetta that resulted in the loss of innocent lives. These terrorists and their accomplices must be arrested and need to be trailed forthwith.
