LAHORE: Pakistan Muslim League – N (PML-N) President Shehbaz Sharif has tested positive for coronavirus according to the party’s spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb.
Shehbaz Sharif is said to be isolating at home with mild symptoms and following the advice of his doctors regarding the COVID-19 infection. It is important to mention that the PML-N Leader is a cancer survivor and 69 years old.
A representative of the political party Ata Tarar blames National Accountability Bureau (NAB) for summoning him on 9 June to answer questions regard the assets beyond means and money laundering case even though the court was specifically told that Shehbaz Sharif was a cancer survivor.
They were told that the PML-N leader was willing to answer all questions via video link but Tarar says that calling him in person to the hearing was nothing more than a blind political vendetta saying that if anything was to happen, Imran Khan and NAB will be responsible.
Earlier, PML-N Leader and former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, Secretary General Ahsan Iqbal was also tested positive for coronavirus along with the party’s Spokesperson Marrium Aurangzeb joining the list of many other lawmakers and politicians including the current Federal Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid who was tested positive for COVID-19.
