Karachi : Twin Blast in Azizabad area

KARACHI: At least two people was killed and scores of others were injured in two back-to-back blasts near a unit of office of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) in Azizabad which is also home to the party’s Headquarter, Nine Zero.

Reportedly the first blast struck an MQM Unit office located near Moor Park in Azizabad Block 8, just a couple of kilometers away from its headquarter, Nine Zero, while the second one tore through the same area minutes after.

The second bomb is feared be even deadlier as it went off as the rescuers, law enforcers, volunteers, and media peronals thronged the attack site.

Police says the explosive device was planted in a rickshaw, a modus operandi the terrorists reportedly used in some of their early attacks in Karachi.

The emergency responders have stated rescue work as injured were being shifted to Abbassi Shaheed Hospital.

MQM Chief Altaf Hussain has vehemently denounced the bombings in Azizabad which also houses his party’s Headqaurters.

The blast smashed the window panes of the building surrounding the crime scene.

A series of bombings in recent weeks have targeted offices and candidates of MQM, Awami National Party (ANP) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP), most of which took place in Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta in the run-up to the May 11 general elections

Hello! My name is Farhan Abro, and I'm based here in Islamabad. My journey in Pakistan's digital media really kicked off when I founded INCPak back in 2012. We built it from the ground up, driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, to be a trusted voice for independent journalism. But while media is a big part of who I am, I'm also shaped by a fascinating mix of other passions. I'm deeply into automotive, which gives me a technical edge, but I also find my artistic expression through landscape photography and music. And I'm always diving into the exciting world of Artificial Intelligence. Bringing all these different worlds together the technical, the creative, the journalistic, and the entrepreneurial—it really colors how I see things and approach every project. It gives me a distinct perspective that I try to bring to everything I share
