The UAE visa restrictions imposed on Pakistan are temporary according to the Foreign Minister of the United Arab Emirates Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
According to the UAE foreign minister, the visa restrictions for Pakistan were implemented due to the coronavirus pandemic and the ban is temporary as there is great room for expansion of relations between both countries.
The comments come after Sheikh Abdullah’s meeting with FM Shah Mehmood Qureshi during his two-day official visit to the UAE.
During the visit, the two foreign ministers discussed matters of mutual interest, including bilateral relations, promotion of trade and economic cooperation between the two countries.
“The UAE is a second home to 1.5 million Pakistanis. The current travel bans are because of the coronavirus pandemic,” clarified FM Abdullah.
It is pertinent to mention that during his visit, FM Qureshi said that the Pakistani community had played an important part towards the development of the Emirates and stressed upon the need to resolve the issue of UAE visa restrictions for Pakistan at the earliest.
