Weather Update: Karachi to Face Intense Heat and Humidity Over Next Two Days

Weather Update: Karachi will face hot and humid conditions over the next two days, as forecasted by the Meteorological Department. Temperatures are expected to rise between 35 to 37 degrees Celsius during the day. With humidity levels around 65%, the heat index could feel as high as 40 degrees due to the lack of sea breezes.

Despite the intense heat, there is a chance of rain with thunderstorms in some areas. Monsoon winds are moving into Sindh, which may bring some relief, especially in rural regions. Westerly winds are also expected on Thursday and Friday, possibly affecting the weather patterns.

Currently, Karachi’s temperature stands at 34 degrees Celsius with partly cloudy skies. Residents should stay hydrated and take precautions during this heatwave.

Rain Forecast Across Pakistan

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department predicts rain across various regions in Pakistan.

This includes Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, the Pothohar region, Northeast Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan, Azad Kashmir, Lower Sindh, and Northeast Balochistan. Thundershowers are expected in Upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pothohar, Islamabad, Northeast Punjab, and other areas.

While these regions prepare for rainfall, the rest of the country will likely experience hot and humid weather.

Potential Flooding and Landslides

Officials are concerned about potential flooding in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan due to glacial lake outbursts. Mountainous areas like Murree, Guliyat, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan may face landslides, leading to traffic disruptions.

Urban flooding is also expected in low-lying areas of Upper and Central Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as heavy rains may overwhelm drainage systems. Residents should stay alert and be ready for rapidly changing weather conditions.

Hello! My name is Farhan Abro, and I'm based here in Islamabad. My journey in Pakistan's digital media really kicked off when I founded INCPak back in 2012. We built it from the ground up, driven by an entrepreneurial spirit, to be a trusted voice for independent journalism. But while media is a big part of who I am, I'm also shaped by a fascinating mix of other passions. I'm deeply into automotive, which gives me a technical edge, but I also find my artistic expression through landscape photography and music. And I'm always diving into the exciting world of Artificial Intelligence. Bringing all these different worlds together the technical, the creative, the journalistic, and the entrepreneurial—it really colors how I see things and approach every project. It gives me a distinct perspective that I try to bring to everything I share
