Weather Update: Rain Likely in Islamabad, Rawalpindi and Parts of Pakistan

In the latest weather update, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecasted more rain-wind/thunderstorms for Islamabad, Rawalpindi, and other regions of Pakistan for Thursday evening/night, Friday, and Saturday.

Moist currents from the Arabian Sea are entering the southern and central parts of Pakistan, while a shallow westerly wave is prevailing over the southern and upper regions. These weather patterns are expected to bring rain-wind/thunderstorms to several areas.

Here is the detailed forecast for the upcoming days:

Weather Forecast

The weather forecast for Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, Gilgit-Baltistan, and northeast Balochistan indicates that these areas will experience rain and thunderstorms from Thursday evening, Friday, and Saturday.

Some regions, including northeast Balochistan, central and upper Punjab, and southern Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, may face heavy rainfall and potential hailstorms. In contrast, the rest of the country is expected to have hot and dry weather.

Temperature Forecast

Here’s the temperature forecast till Saturday:

Islamabad:

  • Friday: Maximum temperature between 39-41°C.
  • Saturday: Maximum temperature between 41-43°C.

Rawalpindi:

  • Friday: Maximum temperature between 38-40°C.
  • Saturday: Maximum temperature between 38-40°C.

Recent Weather Conditions

  • In the past 24 hours, windstorm/thunderstorm rains have been reported in Punjab, northeast Balochistan, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan.
  • Other regions have experienced hot and dry weather.

Residents in the affected areas are advised to stay informed about weather updates and take necessary precautions, especially in regions where heavy rainfall and thunderstorms are expected.
