Lahore Qalandars won the match by 119 runs against Islamabad United in the ongoing season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL 8 2023) at the Pindi Cricket Stadium. Islamabad was missing one of its most important batsman, Azam Khan, who suffered an injury to his ring finger while keeping during the first innings.
Lahore Qalandars won the toss and decided to bat first, which allowed them to set a target of 227 for Islamabad United.
Despite the loss of an early wicket with Abdullah Shafique being dismissed for just 1 run from 2 balls on a full length delivery by Fazalhaq Farooqi. However, Fakhar Zaman played brilliantly and scored 115 runs off 57 balls, while Kam Ghulam also managed 41 runs off 30 balls before being dismissed on a delivery by Hasan Ali and a catch by Mohammad Wasim Jr.
Sam Billings added 32 runs from 22 balls, while Rashid Khan’s 15 runs also helped the Lahore Qalandars set a decent target.
Islamabad United had a terrible second innings with the bat as none of their batters were able to perform and barely scored 20 runs each.
