The National Selection Committee is likely to announce changes to the Pakistan squad for World Cup 2023 with Naseem Shah being replaced by someplace after a shoulder injury during Asia Cup’s match against India.
According to reports, Naseem Shah is likely to be replaced by Hasan Ali, who will return to the squad for the International Cricket Council (ICC) World Cup 2023, which is scheduled to start next month.
Meanwhile, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has stated, “The PCB’s medical team has been monitoring the status of Naseem Shah’s shoulder injury sustained during the Asia Cup 2023. Medical consultations with the experts are underway to provide the best possible care to Naseem.”
“The PCB medical panel will decide on the fast bowler’s return to cricket based on further assessments,” the PCB’s statement added.
It is pertinent to mention that Naseem Shah isn’t the only fast-bowler with an injury at the moment as Haris Rauf was also ruled out of the same match against India as a precautionary measure after complaining of discomfort in his oblique muscle.
Meanwhile, fast bowler Ihsanullah was also dealing with an elbow injury and he will be unavailable for the next months while he recovers. Moreover, Mohammad Hasnain is also going through rehabilitation form injury in England.
